This collection of lamps has been created using my research into the industrial history of Limehouse in East London, and it's integral relationship with the Thames. I uncovered a gritty and fascinating history of dock and related nautical crafts such as rope making and pattern making, in the 19th century. These industries no longer exist, but while traces of them remain I was captivated by their utilitarian tools and equipment. By bridging the gap between past and present I invite people to consider and re-evaluate the importance of well-made design in the modern world.
